You walk out of your room on the meteor and make your way to what's become the "rumpusblock", as the trolls call it, or "living room" as the humans address it, to get some coffee after a hard morning of alphabetizing your socks. It’s hard work, but someone’s gotta do it. There’s not much else to do around here, either, and you’re hoping some hot java will awaken a creative spirit in you. As you cross the hall, you notice Karkat sitting cross-legged on the couch, alone, watching yet another uber-complicated, headache-inducing titillating Alternian rom-com. He shuts off his husktop when he notices you walking behind him, glaring at you with anger subtly boiling under the surface. It’s like he can read your poor cultural understanding through your confused face. “You’re the one who suggested “You’ve Got Mail” to me, right?” He asks, crossing his arms. “Uh, yeah. I thought you’d like it.” You reply, stuffing your hands in your pockets. “I thought it was decent. I liked how the protagonists were heading towards a pitch relationship fueled by their businesses being rivals, but then developed a flushed one through their conversations, and eventually vacillated into a matespritship. A bit predictable, maybe, but pretty well done.” “Cool, cool.” You nod, feeling awkward and unsure how to respond to all that alienspeak about relationships and quadrants. He nods as well and presses the play button on his laptop again, resuming his movie and leaving you to get to the kitchenette across the room.
